Haiti made it! A Trending topic. A Filipino friend said welcome to the club of trending after a disaster. Haitian American have been coming out the lips of anchors every day this week. Social media has played a major role in disseminating information and raising funds of the relief effort.<\/p>\n

But still, Haiti is still the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere<\/a>, the media reminds everyone. Does it matter right now?<\/p>\n

Graphic photos of partially exposed body parts in the papers. rubble everywhere. David Belle and the Cin\u00e9 Institute, which is still standing, has been posting updates on the org’s website <\/a>with photo and videos.<\/p>\n

Family members have been found; others not so fortunate; others are still waiting for news; others already know they are gone.<\/p>\n

Attended a meeting last night to come with ways to help with the effort. A lot of people in my circles showed up. As did\u00a0 a representative from Yele, Wyclef’s non-profit and OMAROSA<\/a> — yes her. <\/a><\/p>\n

This is Yele’s time to show what they can accomplish besides raising large amounts of money via texts and tweets. And I hope they rise to the occasion.<\/p>\n
