Haiti made it! A Trending topic. A Filipino friend said welcome to the club of trending after a disaster. Haitian American have been coming out the lips of anchors every day this week. Social media has played a major role in disseminating information and raising funds of the relief effort.

But still, Haiti is still the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, the media reminds everyone. Does it matter right now?

Graphic photos of partially exposed body parts in the papers. rubble everywhere. David Belle and the Ciné Institute, which is still standing, has been posting updates on the org’s website with photo and videos.

Family members have been found; others not so fortunate; others are still waiting for news; others already know they are gone.

Attended a meeting last night to come with ways to help with the effort. A lot of people in my circles showed up. As did  a representative from Yele, Wyclef’s non-profit and OMAROSA — yes her.

This is Yele’s time to show what they can accomplish besides raising large amounts of money via texts and tweets. And I hope they rise to the occasion.

I have been an avid user of Shutterfly for much of my printing needs from snapshots to my portfolio 11X14 prints. Their customer service is impeccable and the perks for using them often includes lots of free prints and discounts.

11X14 Print from Shutterfly taken on a Canon Powershot. And through the "magic" of Twitter I discovered IPrintFromHome.com and tried out their service for fine art printing and received a great metallic print of a scanned photo I blew up. Both have good customer service and normal delivery is pretty quick.
